Not every Implant is Equal!
Much like you would not hang a photo frame on the wall by putting up a nail first, then deciding if the frame is hung in the perfect spot, we do implants differently. With that same concept, and using our 3D Cone-Beam xray technology merged with a 3D digital scan of your existing teeth, we design the ideal placement of your dental implant or implants on our computer well before the procedure. We then use this detailed plan to 3D print you a custom surgical guide. What this does is allow us to place this implant in the perfect position in your mouth based on where we have designed the tooth to go. It is truly a “begin with the end in mind” concept.
Pre procedural Design Steps:
- 1) Where does the tooth belong based on esthetics and function?
- 2) Where will we need the man made root (dental implant) to allow us to place this tooth where planned?
- 3) Design of a surgical guide to get us there.
This makes for shorter appointment times, faster procedures, and the highest precision of any dental implant technique.
Dental Implants have one of the highest upfront investments compared to other options (around the cost of a 3-tooth bridge if replacing1 tooth with an implant), but are worth every penny in the long run. They usually last 2-3 times longer than a bridge, and are easier to clean, more natural to eat with, preserve bone, are individualized allowing us to preserve precious enamel from adjacent teeth, and are easily flossed between.
Basic Implants require 3 components: the man-made root, the abutment, and a crown. The crown can be retained by either cement or a small screw.
On some cases additional techniques are used for a more positive outcome such as building up of bone and gums, sinus treatments, and healing caps prior to the final crown. We will make sure to pick just the right design for you so you can get back to looking and feeling how you were naturally intended to.
